Carey Springs Farm Journal: First Entry!

I never realized how much creating a business to partner with horses that will help individuals and teams understand and use their strengths to work more productively in the workplace would involve so many steps. We have done so much as our own team at Carey Springs Farm in the past eight months to build this business, and I only wish that I had started journaling about it earlier. For now, I plan to jump right in and just tell you about today.

Today I am recreating the Carey Springs Farm website so that I can bring the Carey Springs Farm website and the Carey Springs Farm Store under the same domain name within the same hosting site. This task is more difficult than I imagined, but neither the canned marketing site that I am using for the Carey Springs Farm website nor the Shopify site that I am using for the store are capable of doing all the things that I would like to do for the services I wish to provide. And these sites only allow minimal customization. Sooo, it is my plan to start from scratch and build a better site to do it all. That is ambitious!!

I am an economist and an EAL facilitator, so doing this will take some time out of my day. But many moons ago, I had a small web developing company, and while web development has surely changed over the past 12 years, I am not starting entirely from scratch.

One of the things that I love about my work is that my home office is in my barn. When I take a break, I get to enjoy time with my horse herd. Sam is pictured below. He is my 17 year old Tennessee Walker. He is more like a 1200 pound puppy dog.

Some of you have followed my dream to do this type of work, so look towards these pages to see what develops next!
